Contact: Brenda Pongracz 216-987-3897 Event Description: Community members are invited to join the faculty, staff and students where family-friendly activities will take place with a sustainability focus:11:00 - Wii Endless Ocean Gaming – Atrium (child-friendly activity) Become a scuba diver and explore the Manaurai Sea, searching for sunken treasure and sea life such as penguins, whale sharks, manta rays, humpback whales, dolphins and cetaceans that can be trained to perform tricks! Populate your own aquarium with species you have identified! Experience cave diving, deep-water trench exploration, and wreck diving for yourself, exploring the undersea world and gaining an appreciation for the species that live there. 11:00 – Fruit Carving Class (for the adults) Enjoy sampling a mouth-watering fruit display carved as you watch in a live demonstration 12:00 – Aramark Local Food Lunch – Atrium (for everyone) 1:00 – Sustainability Scavenger Hunt (for everyone) Learn about the sustainable features of the Westshore Campus building by hunting for information regarding the building’s materials and energy and water efficiency that are expected to make it Tri-C’s first Leadership in Environmental Design (LEED) GOLD certified building. Then, take a walk outside to find items that don’t belong in our natural wetland landscape. Win prizes for completing the scavenger hunt first, for the most unusual non-natural item, and for other categories. Earn wellness points for walking!
